Being hispanic, I am also offended. Why...I agree! Being hispanic, I am also offended. Why must we put a color or race to a role model?? This comment makes me ill, and coming from a "hispanic" himself, Mr. Navarro...comments like that make people like you sound very ignorant. The role model I look up to and would like my children to look up to, is someone who is true to themselves, their families, community, faith, and most of all THEIR WORD!!

"OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE"!!

This poor choice was clearly

"OF THE BOARD BY THE BOARD AND UNDENIABLY FOR THE BOARD".

The Board made a very poor attempt of doing the "PC thing", when they asked for "suggestions" on naming Grand Terrace's long-awaited and very much embraced High School, then insult an entire community by not even listening to the majority, and then to take it even further...shove it in everyone's face by putting the votes in print that GTHS actually won, AND STILL, gave it a name that they had already made up in their minds LONG before this "submit your suggestions" was requested. Oops...no so "PC" afterall! WoW...with no disrespect to Mr. Abril...if people like that make these kind of decisions and disrespect an entire community,I question the character of their models.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
